¶3 SHI SUES COMPUTER SHOP
¶2------------------------------------
¶1We are proud to be the first disk
mag to present you this story. Safe
Hex International is now sueing a
Norwegian computer shop called
"Serad A/S" in Stavanger for piracy.
It is the first time in history that
a computer shop gets sued for
piracy.
O.K, That was just some quick
facts, her comes the whole story:
Kurt Hansen (The leader of SHI in
Norway) asked the shop if they
wanted to sell their disks "The New
Superkillers". But they didn't want
to because they could not earn
enough money by selling it.
Some time after a boy phoned Kurt
because Serad A/S was selling a copy
of "The New Superkillers" for 50
N.Kr. and it stood on the disk that
it was not supposed to be sold for
more than 30 N.Kr. The disk had not
got the original label, and both the
label and the receipt was written
with the same hand-writing. This
disk is one of the main evidences in
this case. When Kurt found out that
they were selling his disks illegal,
he contacted the shop and tried to
sort this problem out. But the shop
wouldn't co-operate at all. He
wrote to them two times and said
that if they agreed to pay about
$100-$400 the case would be
finished.
But they wouldn't pay a cent. Then
he contacted the rest of the
organisation. After some time with
thoroughly study of the case, they
found out that they should sue them.
The shop is now sued for 35000 N.Kr.
or about 6000$ !
All the big newspapers and TV-
stations in Norway has got this news
but they are to afraid to loose
their advertisement money from the
shop. (We in the Resident staff are
not afraid of anybody !)

ISSUE OF RESIDENT !
¶2------------------------------------
¶1At last som words from me (ed.):
Not long ago, my mouse-port got
damaged, and I gave it to Serad A/S
for service. When I came to get it,
they said that it costed me over 500
N.Kr. or about $80. Can you belive
that? That's not what I call
service, I call it robbery !
¶2------------------------------------
¶1That's all for now ! But we will
follow up this case in the next
issue of ¶3Resident.
